The system is under strain:

3:00 am : Dexter wakes up and cries for 40 minutes
5:00 am : Dexter up with Mom for the day (we slept late!)
7:00 argue with husband about remodel deadlines
7:30 am : meet with tile installer to sketch desing on floor in new bathroom, trying to solve a bunch of critical problems in a rush
8:15 : meet with paint guys to finalize paint choices, shooting from the hip
8:45 : take sniffly Zach to tour a new preschool
9:30 am : call shop to schedule repair of engine in BMW, arrive at work.
10:00 am : get address and plan lunch to visit tile store to look at marble slab, to buy same day
10:20 : cancel slab pick, cancel car appt, realize I have to go home to get materials to pick slab tomorrow
11:00: talk to web design agency I want to fire
11:45: schedule informational chat with potential new employer
12: work through lunch in a series of meetings
2pm : walk to get lunch, eat through a call, buy Christmas present online
3pm : meetings till end of day
5pm : cancel tentative dinner with LA friend to take job call
5:15 pm : type up day while waiting for late recruiter...
