Dex Sez

Dexter, previously hilarious physically rather than verbally, is getting funnier verbally. Part of it is his two-ness. When I ask him to do something, like put on his coat, he usually responds, "I can't." And he asks for things by saying he needs them, rather than he wants them. "I need apple juice," for example. He's thoroughly addicted to two things: tools and Toy Story. Denying him either results in full temper tantrums that last a long time. But honestly, giving your two-year-old a hammer to keep inside? It's not that good an idea.

He also uses the same intonation that the rest of the family uses, so when he says things like, "Mama? Mama!" It's the same way I call him. And he says, "How 'bout that?" and "I guess so!" just like we do.

Endearingly, he loves his Woody doll from Toy story, but he can't pronounce his name, so he calls him "Cooey."
